Dom Perignon 2000 Rosé Vintage Champagne Magnum is a vintage matured in the champagne cellars of Epernay for nine years.
The conditions suitable for making Dom Pérignon white vintage do not always guarantee the production of a Rosé. It is always sold in limited numbers because the qualities of the Pinot Noir grapes that the Dom Pérignon style requires are truly exceptional as well.
The pale, salmon colour is achieved by the addition of still red pinot noir wine to a blend of still wines made from pinot noir and chardonnay. The inclusion of chardonnay is important to the character of Dom Perignon Rose, a vital ingredient in producing a wine of perfect balance where the two grapes 20% Pinot Noir, 80% Chardonnay, together offer harmony and complexity which is less likely to be achieved in Champagne by either grape on its own.
Initial floral and perfumed notes blossom rapidly, leading to aromas of orange peel and dried fruits which bring to mind the scent of ripe harvests and woody spices. In the mouth, the wine reveals a fullness of texture.
Dom Perignon Rosé remains a rare commodity due to the small quantities available from each vintage year. This rarity can dictate the very essence of luxury.
